StepE terms of sale

Last updated 3 November 2026

These terms apply when you buy or use a StepE subscription from QuoVira Health Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17322340), registered office 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX (“we”, “us”). By starting a trial or buying StepE you agree to them. Our website terms of use and privacy policy also apply.

The plans

Personal is for one person. The licence key works on one computer at a time; you can move it to another computer from StepE’s Settings.

Enterprise is for an organisation, with StepE Server installed on its own network. You choose a band: Starter (up to 5 users), Team (up to 10), Department (up to 25) or Organisation (up to 50). Each user is a named person in your directory; StepE Server counts them against your licence. For more than 50 users we agree a price with you.

The features in each plan are as described on the StepE page when you buy.

The free trial

Every new subscription starts with a free trial of 14 days. You give a card when you start it, and your licence works straight away. Your first payment is taken when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then, in which case you pay nothing. One free trial per person or organisation: we may decline a further trial.

Prices and billing

You pay monthly or yearly, in advance, by card through Stripe. Prices in pounds include VAT; prices in US dollars and South African rand do not include any taxes that apply where you are. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.

Price changes

We may change our prices. A new price applies straight away to new subscriptions. For a subscription you already have:

  • we email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to it;
  • the new price applies from your next renewal, never part way through a period you have paid for (so a yearly price stays the same for that year);
  • if you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before your renewal and you are not charged it.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time: in StepE, go to Settings, then Manage or cancel subscription; or use quovirahealth.co.uk/apps/stepe/manage; or email us. Your licence then runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and is not renewed. We do not refund part periods, except where the law requires it. If you buy as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.

Using StepE

We grant you a licence to use StepE while your subscription is active, for your own work or your organisation’s. You must not resell it, share a Personal licence key between people, use more Enterprise users than your band, or copy, change or reverse engineer the software except as the law allows. Updates are included while your subscription is active.

Your content and data

Your guides, screenshots and exports stay on your computers and, for Enterprise, on your own StepE Server. We do not receive them. A Personal licence checks in with our licence service now and then, sending the licence key and an identifier for the computer, not your content. Enterprise sends us nothing while it runs. See our privacy policy.

StepE helps you find and blur personal data and keeps records of checks and signatures, but you remain responsible for what you record and share: check each document before you share or rely on it.

Liability

We supply StepE with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss of profits, business, data or goodwill, or for any indirect loss, and our total liability to you in any year is limited to the amount you paid us for StepE in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

If we end a subscription

We may suspend or end a subscription if a payment is not made, or if these terms are seriously broken and not put right within 14 days of our telling you. If we stop offering StepE, we will tell you at least 90 days ahead and refund any period paid for that we cannot supply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For a significant change we email subscribers at least 30 days before it applies; you can cancel before then if you do not agree. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
